about

"Less and More" written by Lewis Knudsen, 2018

lyrics

She lost her job then found out she was expecting twins
He picked up extra work, had to quit the band he played in
Paycheck cut right in half, expenses times four
They said we've got less than we ever had and more than we ever had before

When a seed in fall it looks like that's the end
After the deadly cold how could it ever live again
But when spring comes back round to take winter's place
Sure enough that seed is sprouting, growing flowers all over the place

I toured for a few years hoping for the best
Instead of earning money I just got a lot of traveling stress
Now I play shows in town, I did not give up
I just looked at what I had right in my hand and saw it was more than enough

My heart was flying in the sky while I slept on the floor
With less than I ever had I had more than I ever had before
